Parents Discover A Secret Hidden In Adoptive Daughter’s Family Tree…

404

Life was good for Lisa and Gene Lumpkins. They were financially successful. They had two beautiful children. But they realized something was missing. That’s when the Georgetown, Kentucky couple decided to trade in their fancy cars and comfortable lifestyle to adopt four orphans from China — each child with special needs.

One of Lisa and Gene’s adopted children is a little girl named Aubrey. Not only does Aubrey have cerebral palsy, but she was neglected and abused by her biological mother. At one point, Aubrey’s birth mom attempted to smother her to death. But now that she’s part of a loving family, Aubrey couldn’t be happier — but her story has recently taken an unexpected turn.

One day, Lisa’s friend and an orphanage volunteer posted a photo of an orphaned girl on Facebook. Lisa noticed the girl in the photo looked staggeringly familiar. She couldn’t shake the similarities between this unknown girl on Facebook and her adopted daughter, Aubrey. As soon as Lisa started posting the photo of the girl on her own Facebook page, even her friends and family members agreed.

Feeling in her gut that there was much more to it, Lisa paid for a DNA test and sent in a swab of Aubrey’s saliva. Nothing could prepare Lisa or her family for what they discovered next…

One day, Lisa’s friend and an orphanage volunteer posted a photo of an orphaned girl on Facebook who needed a home.

Lisa noticed the girl in the photo looked staggeringly familiar to her adopted daughter, Aubrey.

Lisa paid for a DNA test and sent in a swab of Aubrey’s saliva. When the results came back, she received the answer she’d been looking for.

Aubrey was not an only child.

The little girl in the photo was Aubrey’s sister!

The Lumpkins discovered Aubrey’s 13-year-old sister, who they call Avery, also suffers from cerebral palsy.

Lisa is desperately searching for a way to adopt Avery and bring these two sisters together — but the Lumpkins family has hit a financial wall after funding four adoptions out-of-pocket or with loans. On average, these adoptions cost upwards of $33,000.

In order to adopt Avery, the Lumpkins must do so before August 2016, or else she will “age out” of the orphanage system. When orphans in China turn 14, they are no longer adoptable and can no longer leave the country. Instead, they are often thrown out onto the streets to fend for themselves.

Horrifically, some of the girls who age out end up forced into a life of sex trafficking.

Lisa is terrified that Avery will never get to meet her sister or have a family of her own.
