Dead Man Gets TWO Obituaries, One From His Wife… The Other From His Girlfriend.

It’s said that weddings and funerals can make or break a family. Whether it’s unresolved issues, resentment or the dispute of a will; death can bring out the worst in people. The sorrow of losing someone you love is a highly emotional and stressful time.

Notifying friends and family as well as making all the arrangements for the actual funeral is just among the many things families have to worry about. Yet, people still make the time to place an obituary announcement in the paper with a sweet anecdote or small bio of their loved one.

Leroy Bill Black was a loved man who passed away at the age of 55 in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey last week. The Press of Atlantic City, ran two obituaries on Friday. At first glanced it appeared the paper had made an error placing two identical photos on top of each other. When readers looked a little closer they discovered it was a little more complicated than an editor making a mistake.

In the first obituary it says Leroy Bill Black is survived by his son and “loving wife,” Bearetta Harrison Black. There is no mention of the cause of death. Leroy passed away on August 2, 2016.1

The second obituary lists the loving family he left behind like his son, siblings, and his girlfriend Princess Hall. In the text it also reveals Black died of lung cancer after being exposed to fiberglass.

One of the employees at Greenridge Funeral Homes, where the service was held said two obituaries ran in the paper because, “the wife wanted it one way, and the girlfriend wanted it another way.”
